Extracting Resumes from Gmail with Tobu

Tobu makes it easy to extract resumes from your Gmail inbox, transforming your email history into a powerful, searchable resume database.

Connecting Gmail to Tobu

Tobu integrates directly with Gmail accounts using secure Google authorization.

Steps to Link Your Gmail Account

  1. Log in to your Tobu account.
  2. Go to Resume Sources and select Add Email Account.
  3. Choose Gmail from the options.
  4. Sign in with your Google credentials and grant read-only access to your inbox.

Once connected, Tobu starts scanning your Gmail inbox for resumes.

Resume Extraction and Parsing

  • Tobu scans your email history to extract all past resumes.
  • New resumes arriving in your inbox will be detected automatically.
  • Each resume is parsed into searchable fields like name, email, phone, work experience, education, and skills.

Sync Timing

  • Historical extraction can take between 30 minutes to 10 hours depending on the size of your inbox and number of resumes.
  • For active Gmail inboxes, new resumes typically appear in Tobu within 2 to 10 minutes.
  • On low-activity inboxes, syncing can occur every 2 to 4 hours.

Staying Synced

  • Gmail accounts stay connected through your Google login.
  • Occasionally, Google may log you out for security. If this happens, Tobu will alert you to re-authenticate your account.

Managing Multiple Accounts

  • You can link multiple Gmail accounts to the same Tobu workspace.
  • Tobu automatically handles duplicate resumes across accounts.
